1. Ladakh

The Road to Ladakh is an all time favorite and a must do for all as this is the ultimate road trip in India. 2. Mustang in Nepal

Mustang is also called the ‘Last Forbidden Kingdom’ and tourism only opened for this region in 1992. This is the frontier between the Himalayas and Tibet and it is steeped in undisturbed Tibetan Buddhist culture with ancient monasteries, traditional villages and cave dwellings high up on the cliffs, as well as the stunning architecture on view at the walled city of Lo Manthang (capital of Mustang region). Till recently the only way to reach mustang was by a trip through the Himalayas but now a road has come up through massive gorges and crossing fast flowing rivers that leads to Lo-Mathang from Pokhara.  So plan a trip to the forbidden kingdom and take the road less travelled across the Himalayas.

3. Rajasthan

The Land of the maharajas Rajasthan has artistic and cultural traditions which reflect the ancient Indian way of life. There is a rich and varied folk culture from villages which is often depicted symbolic of the state. It is a land of deserts and jungle, camel trains and tigers, glittering jewels, vivid art and vibrant culture. There are enough festivals here to fill a calendar and an artist’s palette, and the shopping and cuisine are nothing short of spectacular. It is the must-see state of India, brimming with varied, startling and incredible attractions. 4. Tibet

Tibet, being known as the Roof of the World, is the highest place to heaven, with an average elevation of 4,900 meters. Located in a plateau north of the Himalayas, it is a mysterious, exotic place that many outsiders yearned for. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the massive, tranquil land with its majestic scenery and mysterious religious culture has exerted an awesome draw on travelers. A road trip to Tibet can be started from Kathmandu in Nepal or Lahasa in Tibet and is bound to leave you mesmerized and satisfy your maverick soul. With a visit to Everest base camp & Kailash Mansarovar lake this trip can also satisfy your craving for adventure and the spiritual side of life.

This is also one of the most challenging and risky international road trips from India as you need to obtain permits two months before setting off, and the whole trip hangs on various uncertainties as these applications are very likely to get rejected by the Chinese authorities. 5. Central India

The heart of Central India is a treasure trove of natural richness, wildlife, history, heritage & beauty. This journey takes us through a land which exudes timelessness in every way.
